Very Rare and Very Difficult to find original vintage Mercedes Benz ZF 5 Speed Manual Transmission with original MBZ Special short drive shaft! This transmission was designed to be used in vintage W111 and W113 chassis vehicles. The transmission is in Un-restored very clean condition including the drive shaft. The only physical flaw with respect to the transmission is the fact that where the speedo cable is attached to the casing there is a small amount of the aluminum housing broken off and missing. This area could be repaired or a retainer of some type could be fabricated to hold the speedo cable in place. Other than this there is no other damage to the exterior of the case. The transmission is complete and even includes the very hard to find shorter version drive shaft. The transmission ran fine before it was originally pulled from the vehicle and it shifts through all gears including reverse with no problems. There is a little bit of play in the input bearing which is a little bit noisy as well and it may be advisable to replace it along with any other bearings that might need replacing while the transmission is out before reinstalling it. If you are considering switching out your factory installed 4-Speed Manual Trans in your vintage Mercedes Benz 111, 113 chassis for a Rare factory ZF 5-Speed Manual Trans then look no further! As you can see the motor is very clean internally. It comes with all the Internal Parts.

The paperwork and the receipt shows there was over $2,700 worth of motor work done on the motor back in 1976, which was a small fortune back then. This motor was built by RAMCHARGERS Racing Engines Inc., for history purposes they were a group of retired Chrysler Engineers that formed this company. They built high end HEMI motors. This motor is rated over 700HP based on the build specs. Your not going to find many 426 HEMI Warranty Block motors build by such a reputable company, backed up with some much paperwork. This is a must have motor for a HEMI car. The motor was said to have come out of a HEMI Charger, but I have no way to know for sure.

Then, I was going to put the 3.8 into the Cayman, but money has become an issue and I need to go a different direction. Farnbacher Loles said I could still get a 2 year warrenty out of the engine if they installed it. I assume the warrenty starts once the engine is installed, but you would have to check with your Installer/Tuner/Porsche dealer. I'm not asking for any core exchange ($5000 core charge was paid when purchased), I wouldn't have any use for another engine. I'm just trying to recoupe some of my losses. The engine has never been used, it was only prepped to be put in, but I backed out and it was put back into the crate. This is a steal !!!
you won't find any Unused Porsche 3.8 engines out there for this price, you will be lucky to find a good used motor !!

The work done to this engine is as follows:
1. Engine block has been oven cleaned, shot peened and magnafluxed. The block has no crack repair,no damage of any kind. It has been freshly honed and remains at standard 4.00 bore. New oil galley, freeze plugs, and dura bond cam bearings have been installed.
2. Crankshaft is original forged steel, stock 3.48 stroke. Forging number on the crankshaft is 1182 and it is a factory high performance crankshaft that has been drilled and tapped for a bolt to retain the balancer. Crankshaft has been oven cleaned, magnafluxed and shot peened,(stress relieved) The crank is standard on both the rod and main journals.This crankshaft has never been welded or ground(could pass for NOS) and yes is stll standard on the rods and mains!!. Connecting rods are orginal special high performance "pink" rods that have also been oven cleaned and shot peened. They have been resized on the big end with new bolts and nuts, and balanced.
3. The short block was assembled with orginal set of new GM/TRW forged pistons. These are part number L2304F-STD and they yeild the stock 11.00:1 compression ratio and is identical to the original GM LT1 engine. New moly Hastings rings, new Clevitte rod and main bearings, and a new high volume oil pump.
5. Camshaft is a reproduction of the factory LT1 solid lifter grind GM part number 3972178. It has been installed with new lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, balls and nuts.
6. Heads are orginal to this engine and are with the screw in studs and guideplates as they were from the factory. These are factory 2.02x1.60 castings with the machined relif in the combustion chamber. Valves are new Maley stainless steel replacement. They are 2.02x1.60 size. Hardened exhaust seats and bronze guides have been installed with a fresh 5 angle valve job.The heads are also assembled with a set of new GM LT1 springs with pc seals!!.
7. The intake manifold is original 1970 aluminum high rise. It is in excellent condition with no pitting or repairs. The timing cover is original 1970 dated 1-70. It is ready to install and run.

Unlike many other "complete engines" that are basically long blocks with about half of the engine's components missing...this complete engine includes: carburetor, choke assembly, air cleaner, fuel pump, fuel lines, water pump, water by-pass system, thermostat housing, thermostat, deep groove pulleys, fan clutch assembly, heater hose fittings distributor, coil, plug wires, plug wire brackets, spark plugs, alternator & brackets, starter, and pcv system. It does not include exhaust manifolds or headers...that will be left up to the new owner.

The engine has been built with a focus on both details and authenticity. The bolts, clamps, fittings , hoses and wires are all correct for 1968 302. The major components are dated during the first 2 weeks of December, 1967 which is the mid-point of the 1968 model year. The engine not only looks good, it has been professionally built with all of the correct forged components. The inside is as nice and correct as the outside. For example the crank is a mint standard/standard #1178, the rods are original "O" forgings that have been completely rebuilt with ARP bolts, and the oil system uses correct long studs, Z/28 baffle tray and a rare Melling M-55A oil pump (high pressure and high volume) instead of the typical Melling M-55 or M-55HV. The many other details like the forged #2210 TRW/Speed Pro pistons that were custom machined down to the exact 1968 dome configuration...are throughout the engine.

Here's a listing of some of the key components: BLOCK: #3914678 (L 5 7), HEADS: #3917291 (L 1 7 and L 2 7), INTAKE: #3917610 (date unknown, oil shield covers it), CARBURETOR: #3923289-DZ List-4053 (7 0 5), DISTRIBUTOR: #1111467 (M 1 7), COIL: Delco-Remy #293 BF, WATER PUMP: #3858326 (L 12 7), ALTERNATOR: #1100814 (7 L 8), STARTER: 1108367 (7 J 27).

In summary, this 1968 302 was built without compromise to be as good as it could be. It was built for a 1968 Camaro frame-off restoration that took a different direction...there is no misleading promise of this being an original complete 1968 Z/28 302 engine. Instead it is a complete 1968 302 engine that was designed and built from many original and correct 1968 302 parts. This took a lot of searching, time and money to build the engine to this show car level and I'm not planning on giving it away.

The heads were disassembled and repaired, the rest of the motor is intact. The motor spins freely.
20 plus years ago the motor was polished and most parts chromed. Hand made Chopper Style Brass Knuckle Nuts on rockers.
The cylinder & heads have been machine drilled for cooling (an old chopper race look).
We can see NO problems with these cases, no welds, no cracks, all mounts perfect. No cracks or breaks on lifter blocks, cam cover, rockers or oil pump. No cracks in heads at plug holes & no cracks at guide ports.
Pistons are marked 60, the cylinders show hone marks.
We have cleaned off the head repair area so it can be seen in photos. Fortunately the repair did not effect the stock intake manifold threads. Could also be easily converted back to dual carb if desired.
This is NOT a motor that was assembled in the last years with left over parts. It has been in our possession as is for 20 years.

Manufacturing date : 5/20/06

This engine is like brand new. Total time since new only 80.2 hrs ! That is right ! It is like a brand new engine.

A collapsed landing gear caused a prop strike . Fortunately the prop. was a wooden one and snapped easily.

The mandatory total tear down, and subsequent overhaul has been done . The propeller gear, propeller shaft , cam gears and housing, accessory housing and super charger housing have all been inspected by Okanagan Aero Engine Ltd. Crank and cam shaft together with other parts have all been magna fluxed . All of these parts are in impeccable condition.
New propeller shaft bearing, and new cam shaft bearing were installed.
All new super charger gears and bearings are installed. Many major part are now powder coated, please see the red cone, the valve covers, and gear adapter. All pushrods tubes are newly chromed .

All 9 cylinders where reconditioned, and the engine reassembled . The engine looks spectacular, and is ready to be installed . This is the PF version, this particular engine produces 400 Horse Power !!! Many aerobatic world champions won there titles with the help of this type and model Engine !!
This Engine is already westernized ! It has electric start ,air start could be reinstalled easily, if ones needs both .The engine is equipped with a brand new carburetor . 0 hrs.sn The propeller flange is for western style propellers, like Hartzel, or MT propeller . Actually all western propellers would fit, it is an SAE prop flange and fly wheel. A propeller governor is also installed . Standard 24 Volt Alternator,brand new, and new starter are installed .
Western style RPM sender, and vacuum gears for a regular vacuum pump, are installed . The Exhaust system is also included .

Also all the fittings were changed from metric to standard fittings . So the installation of this engine is easy compared to the original fittings supplied. So all of the headache causing problems are solved.

Twice since july of 2008 and was due for another inspection 10/01/2008 which i did not do and has been stored until now i charged the battery and added fresh gas it fired right up. The 400 square foot parachute is in perfect condition and color is matched to aircraft. This ultralight para ski is one of the best built and equipped planes you can buy it displays your altitude, engine rpm, temp, volts, direction, cht, fuel timer,total hours, the tires and the suspension provides a smooth landing, there are also skis included for winter time fun that are like new. This plane has a 10 gallon fuel tank that will let you fly about two hours, you can purchase pontoons that will turn this plane into a
air boat that will do over 50 mph on water as well. This is a well built, safe and fun plane to fly. The reason i am selling is because i am having trouble with my water well to my house among other things and just need the money.

Very safe and EASY to fly! Throttle controls the altitude and steer left or right with the foot pedals or hand pulls.

Aircraft Condition

This ultra light aircraft is in very good condition it has a pump up choke that drips a little bit when priming up for start. The motor runs very strong a little above half throttle and two people can not hold back, has very few nicks or scratches. paint is not faded it is very bright, parachute is also very bright, the battery was low from storing since last august but took a charge and started motor just fine.

It is the better, early die-cast cylinder head that has the cam follower sleeves fitted on both banks. It has been built onto a late GT Cortina block and bored to twincam standard size. (Block Type. 2731 - very rare). With 6-bolt crank.
Any or all corrosion that is common to these cylinder heads, was removed and correctly welded and stress relieved.
